The NuTERA framework bridges technical, economic, and risk gaps across current and Advanced Nuclear Technologies (ANTs). HYPER-ION was developed within this framework to support Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) design, evaluation, optimisation, and informed decision-making. The technical module enables detailed design evaluation of NPPs, including component and cycle design, Design Point (DP) and Off-Design Point (ODP) performance, as well as part-load and load-following operations. The economic module assesses component costs and provides baseline economic evaluations, while the risk module quantifies performance, operational, financial, and design-related risks. The overall objective is to identify and optimise designs that achieve the lowest Levelised Cost of Electricity and Services (LCOE&S), while meeting required performance and capacity targets.
